Need Help Writing?
With mid-terms right around the corner (is it that time already?!) everyone is sure to need a little assistance. You can make an appointment with a registered tutor in the Writing Center, anytime betwee 9 and 4 Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or 10 to 5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Those in charge recommend that you make an appointment at least two weeks in advanced, as to accommodate the high volume of students likely in need of help. You can call (864) 503-5883 to set up an appoinment, or simply drop by during their designated hours to speak with an advisor.
Tutoring is free to all Upstate students, and faculty strongly advise you to seek help if you feel that you are struggling writing essays. However, be aware that the tutors in the Writing Center are not there to write your papers for you. They can give you advice, help you structure your work , and get the creative juices flowing, but not any ghost writing! As in any other assistance program at Upstate, be prepared to work hard and learn if you accept help from a tutor.
Greenville Campus students can also take advantage of this prime opportunity, by setting up long-distance tutoring via Skype.
If you are interested in potentially working as a tutor in the Writing Center, you can contact Dr. Adams, or look on MySpartanJob.com for more information. Be sure to follow The Writing Center on Twitter for the latest news and updates.
