Fall brings chilly air, beautiful leaves, and ‘all pumpkin everything.’ The only way to enjoy these sights is to embrace the cool air and hit the mountain roads and trails.

The Blue Ridge Parkway has reopened after the government shutdown closed the scenic route for 16 days. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, DuPont State Forest offers a relaxing scene. Waterfalls and streams bubble as students can hike multiple routes. There are over a 100 trails that display breathtaking views of mountains, streams, and wildlife. This is about an hour and a half away in North Carolina.

If one is looking to stay in South Carolina, there are many trails and popular destinations to for camping or hiking . Caesar’s Head and Table Rock offer a view of the Upstate that is best appreciated in person. The beach is not the only attraction the state offers for beautiful sights.
