AHS: The horror continues

TODAY - Season 61The massively popular FX original series American Horror Story recently began its third season. Titled American Horror Story: Coven, the show picks up with a new idea, sharing nothing but a similar cast. Although the third season recently premiered, it is wildly popular among critics.

Some 300 years after the historic Salem Witch Trials, very few witches remain. In order to protect the remaining supernatural from going extinct, a school is opened in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The third season is set in present day and in the 1830s. Witchcraft, witches, slavery, and all things taboo are the center of American Horror Story: Coven. Longtime fans of the show will rejoice in the return of Sarah Paulson in the role of school teacher, Cordelia Fox. Also returning are Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Lily Rabe, the sensational Jessica Lange, and Evan Peters. New to the cast are stars Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery and Kathy Bates as the infamous Delphine LaLaurie,a Nineteenthcentury serial killer.

A gripping and nerve wracking season is promised to dedicated fans and newcomers alike. Critics rave that the new season is full of promise. American Horror Story: Coven airs on FX Wednesday nights at 10 p.m.
