An Evening with Carl Safina

The author of Beyond Words: What Animals Think and Feel, will be joining USC Upstate on March 31. Safina has a B.A. from the State University of New York, a M.S. from Rutgers, and also a PhD in ecology from Rutgers University. He has published many other novels and is the founding President of the Safina Center and hots the PBS Series “Saving the Ocean with Carl Safina.” His various writings include his ideas about how the ocean is changing, lives of free-living animals, and the human relationship with the natural world. His works to show that nature and human dignity require each other. During his visit to USC Upstate, he will discuss how animals have been watching us for much longer than we have been watching them. He says, “We are kin under the skin”.

Tickets for this event may be purchased at The Hub City Bookshop or online at Tickets are $15 for the 7:00 p.m. and $60 for the 6:00 p.m. show. VIP will also include a copy of the $32 hardback book. Some of the proceeds will go to Spartanburg Humane Society, so do not miss out on this wonderful opportunity. Many students and faculty members are raving at the chance to hear Carl Safina and attend this event.
