Fans, USC Upstate basketball coach weigh in on USC-Baylor game

Basketball fans are always good for opinions.

Below are what fans of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and Baylor Bears are saying about Friday’s game in the East Region semifinals at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The game will be broadcast on TBS at 7:29 p.m.

“It should be a good game, South Carolina will have to shoot the three well because Baylor plays a match-up zone. I think South Carolina may be a little bit tougher as a team. Should be a great game.”

-Kyle Perry, USC Upstate men’s associate head coach

“I am very excited to see my favorite school playing in the Sweet 16. I expect this will be a very fun and entertaining game to watch. The Gamecocks need to be able to shoot from the outside to be able to shut down Baylor and be able to make those critical jump shots. But I expect the Gamecocks to be able to pull through and advance.”

-Brandon, USC Upstate student

“Baylor will come out with the win because they have a higher shooting percentage. Not only that, Johnathan Motley and Terry Maston are going to lead the Bears, and I’m not too sure that the Gamecocks will be able to hold them down.”

-Duane Brown, Baylor fan

“If the (South Carolina) keeps a strong defense like the one they’ve kept all year, they will come out with the win.”

-Alejandro Lopez, USC fan
