Thursday’s opening night show of the Shoestring Players production of “The Great American Trailer Park Musical” was canceled.

Technical issues forced the cancellation, according to a university announcement.

A matinee was added to the weekend schedule. Opening night is Friday at 8 p.m., and shows will be 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The show is directed by Jimm Cox, professor of Theatre.

Things in Starke, Fla., are turned upside down as Pippi, a stripper on the run from an ex-boyfriend, moves into Armadillo Acres and wins the affections of Norbert Garstecki, a toll both operator and husband to Jeannie Garstecki, a fan of Dr. Phil who suffers from agoraphobia.

The cast includes Garrett Gibson, Savannah Hall, Jillian Wain, Kat Powell, Kacy Winterhalter, Gabrielle Sassone and Doug Yates.

Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for students, faculty and staff and can be purchased the day of the show at the box office. Pay by cash or checks only.
