Student Life spirit rock vandalized

The Office of Student Life notified organizations Tuesday that promotional rock, “Stu” has been vandalized. Organizations frequently reserve the rock to paint advertisements for events.

“The rock was covered in Vaseline and will need to be power washed because paint won’t adhere to a greasy surface,” Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Student Life, Dr. Khrystal Smith said. “A. Bevy applied paint prior to us being able to clean the rock or notify them.”

A. Bevy Productions is currently advertising its “Purple Matters” seminar in observation of October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

“Unfortunately, their paint will be removed as part of the power washing,” Smith said.

Anyone with information about the vandalism should report to the Office of Student Life. Stu the Rock will not be available for reservation by any student organization or department until the issue is resolved. Organizations on the waitlist will receive direct contact about the status of their reservation.
