The Upstate family will gather at the University Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. Wednesday to celebrate the memories of the four student-athletes killed in a car accident two years ago.

The story made national headlines, with such a huge loss for a small university. Joshua Lee, James Robert Campbell, Sarah Grace Vande Berg, and Horace “Mills” Miller Sproull IV lost their lives and a fifth passenger, Felicia Ahlborg was left in critical condition.

Attendees will participate in yard games from 7-8 p.m. followed by memorial videos. At 8:30 p.m., Laurie Lee will talk to the crowd about her son’s legacy. A candlelight vigil will follow from 8:45-9 p.m. Pizza will be served at the event.

Student athletes received Laurie Lee’s book, “Just Finish the Race” Wednesday. Lee writes of her son’s ambition and his will to live every day to its fullest potential. Her book can be purchased online.
