Students have the chance to win bragging rights over their professors this week in the University Business Society’s “Students vs. Faculty Can Food Drive”.

Participants in this friendly competition will collect and donate canned food for Spartanburg’s local homeless shelter, The Haven. Nonperishable boxed food will also be accepted.

“We are accepting any donations, but any canned or boxed holiday food is preferred,” the organization’s president, Rionni Ward said.

Ward gave a list of example items:
• Canned meats, fruits, and vegetables
• Boxed pasta and rice
• Peanut butter
• Oats

Items can be dropped off for donation at George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics, Room 210. During lunch hour (12:05-1 p.m.), donations can be brought to The George’s Rotunda.

The drive will end Friday and the winner will be announced Nov. 20.
