OPINION: Eminem trashed President Trump at BET Hip Hop Awards

Rapper Eminem took a major swipe at President Trump in the freestyle cypher during the BET Hip Hop Awards.
“That’s an awfully hot coffee pot, should I drop it on Donald Trump? Probably not,” Eminem rapped in his four-minute, mind-blowing freestyle.
During the freestyle, Eminem talks about Trump’s problems from Twitter posts, criticizing NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem and wanting them to be fired for doing so. And he also talks about Trump not respecting the military.
Eminem sent a strong message to Trump supporters. “Any fan of mine who’s a supporter of his, I’m drawing a line in the sand – you’re either for or against,” he rapped, “And if you can’t decide who you like more and you’re split on who you should stand beside, I’ll do it for you with this: f… you.”
I asked Malika Hart, a student and recently retired Navy sailor about the cypher.
“I know a lot of people viewed it as controversial because he’s white,” Hart said. “Which is very true, white rappers are not given as much respect as black rappers simply because this style of music was started in the projects of New York by black men.”
“And of course, this country turns everything into something about race,” Hart said.
Is she wrong? That’s a question we should ask ourselves. What’s wrong with a white rapper speaking the truth about our president?
Eminem was raised in the projects of Missouri and Detroit. He knows the culture and he has every right to speak out about Trump and he shouldn’t be criticized about it.
