I was lucky enough to get a media pass for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits vs Atlanta Gladiators during their “Stick it to Cancer” hockey game at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Jan. 19.

With the press pass I got to see the ins and outs of the arena, from the locker rooms to going out on the ice. See pictures above.

The Greenville Swamp Rabbits are an ECHL hockey team affiliated with the NHL New York Rangers.

Getting off to a bad start losing 2-0 in the first period, the Swamp Rabbits quickly made a turn around and tied the game in the second period. Though going up 3-2, they lost their lead as the Atlanta Gladiators tied the game. Feeling distraught about the goal, it didn’t take long for the Swamp Rabbits to concede another goal with 15 seconds left in the game.

While losing 3-4 to the Gladiators, the night was a success as they auctioned off their special edition jerseys after the game. All proceeds went to cancer research.
